Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

We are almost to the end of a wild and crazy year. I thought I would take this time to fill you in on recent happenings at Light Sport Aviation.

We just completed the 100-hour inspection on N90MX. All went well. The brake leak turned out to be a loose-fitting.

Ground School has been suspended for the holidays. We will start back up on January 9th, 2021. The subject will be Weight & Balance. A must for new students and a refresher for rusty pilots as well.

We have two guest flyers in town! Both are juniors at the Air Force Academy and are on leave waiting to return to the Academy in January. Brandon LaFeatte is a private pilot working on his Flight Instructor rating and Ryan Sabol is a new student working on building time. If Ryan can get ten hours before returning it will help her standing becoming a pilot in the Air Force. Welcome and good luck to you both. Thanks for your service!

Both N19EV and N90MX went on the Saturday Fly-Out to Mesquite, NV (67L). Perfect weather for a great breakfast at the Wolf Creek Golf Club which is a short walk down the hill. Both Brandon and Ryan flew the Evektors. Remember, I do not charge for my time on these flyouts.

Dustin Labit, a former student of Light Sport Aviation, is home on leave from the Navy OCS Academy program. He is in flight training and flies the T-45 Goshawk.  This is a Mach 1+ jet trainer. Yesterday we flew to Kingman, AZ (KIGM) for lunch. Unfortunately, I forgot about the time difference, and the restaurant was closed. Just so happens that it was my turn to buy! Dustin thinks I forgot on purpose.

Congratulations to Leilani. She is back flying solo again after her incident in N644SB. This takes COURAGE!  Leilani, keep up the good work. The damage to N644SB was minor and should be flying again in January 2021.

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have helped make Light Sport Aviation a successful flight training school this year.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone flying in 2021!

From all of us at Light Sport Aviation, Happy New Year!
